Communicating with confidence is crucial in our modern world. Reading aloud, public speaking and presenting skills are all developed when you attend Speech and Drama.  Students born to perform love improvising and the development of acting techniques. Shy children forget they are shy because they have so much fun!

As students progress through their Speech and Drama grade examinations with the Irish Board of Speech and Drama they develop confidence speaking clearly and performing with skill. English language is developed too as they are exposed to a variety of texts, including Shakespeare from a young age.

As a secondary school English teacher, I can verify that students who complete Speech and Drama examinations usually score well in English and the skills learned benefit them in other classes too.

Speech and drama develops self-esteem, improves language and communication skills as well as, concentration, imagination and creativity. Students learn empathy and self-awareness enabling them to navigate their emotions well. Discussing stories and poems help children and young people understand the world around them.

Whether your child is reserved or exuberant, they will enjoy the opportunity to express themselves. Classes instil and encourage a love and appreciation of literature and the arts.
